Experience:
For 25 years I had been employed by the New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control which is the foundation of all of the work I do today in the private practice of law. The Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control regulates the alcoholic beverage industry in the State of New Jersey. During the first 12 years of my employment, I was assigned to the prosecution Bureau which was subsequently named the Enforcement Bureau to reflect the function of the Bureau more accurately. My duties in the Enforcement Bureau are summarized as follows:
During my last 13 years at the Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control, I was assigned to the Bureau of Counsel to the Director. This Bureau is regulatory in nature and focuses more on the consistent and correct interpretation of Alcoholic Beverage Control law by drafting legislation, answering technical questions, training license holders and City Clerks as well as reviewing, reversing, or affirming the decisions of Administrative Law Judges. The following is a summary of my duties in the Bureau of Counsel to the Director:
After retiring from the Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control in 2012, I conducted a private practice as a sole practitioner until the fall of 2022 when I joined the firm of HCK, specializing in Alcoholic Beverage Control law.
I enjoy, spending time with family, traveling, playing golf, scuba diving and reading spy novels.
